Vicks DayQuil Severe, 12 fl oz is a daytime combination medicine for temporary cold and flu symptom relief. Acetaminophen relieves pain and fever; dextromethorphan suppresses cough; phenylephrine is the labelled nasal decongestant. Guaifenesin also loosens mucus for chest congestion.
Directions
Adults and children 12 and older: 30 mL using the supplied cup every four hours, following your package. Maximum four doses in 24 hours. For younger children, follow the label's restrictions and ask a doctor; do not use under age four.
Before use
Do not combine with other acetaminophen medicines or take with an MAOI or within two weeks of stopping one. Ask a clinician about liver disease, high blood pressure, heart or thyroid disease, diabetes, glaucoma, urinary problems, persistent cough, pregnancy or other medicines.
When to get help
Stop and seek advice for worsening symptoms, fever beyond three days, cough beyond seven days, new symptoms, rash or severe/prolonged sore throat. Suspected overdose needs immediate help even without symptoms. Keep at the labelled temperature, check the seal and store away from children.
