Active ingredient: Diclofenac sodium 1%, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
What it is used for
Temporary relief of arthritis pain in hands, wrists, elbows, feet, ankles and knees. Not for back, hip or shoulder pain, or strains, sprains, bruises and sports injuries.
How to use
Adults: use the enclosed dosing card four times daily—2 g per hand, wrist or elbow area; 4 g per foot, ankle or knee area. Treat no more than two body areas at once. Stop if no relief after seven days; use no longer than 21 days unless directed by a doctor. Under 18: ask a doctor. Apply only to clean, dry, intact skin; do not combine another product on that area, bandage it or apply external heat.
Before use
Do not use with a past allergy to pain relievers/fever reducers or around heart surgery. NSAID risks include stomach bleeding, liver injury, heart attack and stroke. Ask about other medicines (especially NSAIDs, blood thinners, steroids or diuretics), ulcers/bleeding, heart or kidney disease, high blood pressure, liver cirrhosis, asthma, stroke history or other serious conditions. Ask during pregnancy/breastfeeding; avoid at 20 weeks or later unless a doctor directs use. Stop for worsening pain, redness/swelling, fever or irritation. Obtain prompt help for allergy, bleeding, chest pain, breathlessness or stroke symptoms.
Can I combine it with ibuprofen?
Review the combination with a doctor or pharmacist. Both are NSAIDs, and using another NSAID can raise bleeding risk.
