Theraflu Daytime Flu Relief Honey Lemon, six packets, is hot-liquid cold and flu medicine. The Max Strength daytime formula contains acetaminophen for pain and fever and dextromethorphan for cough relief. Each packet contains acetaminophen 1000 mg and dextromethorphan HBr 30 mg.

Prepare one dose

For ages 12 and older, dissolve one packet in 8 oz hot water and drink the whole serving within 10–15 minutes. Avoid overheating. Follow this carton's formula and directions; Max Strength dosing is every six hours, maximum three packets in 24 hours unless a doctor directs otherwise. Under 12: do not use.

Avoid duplicate medicines

Acetaminophen can cause severe liver damage when total intake exceeds 4,000 mg in 24 hours, when combined with other acetaminophen products, or with three or more alcoholic drinks daily during use. This is a liver-warning threshold, not this product's dose allowance: follow the maximum of three packets per 24 hours.

Do not add other acetaminophen products or combine with other dextromethorphan medicines. Do not use with an MAOI or within two weeks of stopping one.

Before use

Ask a clinician about liver disease, chronic cough, excess mucus, warfarin, pregnancy or nursing. The powder contains phenylalanine; review the label if you have phenylketonuria.

When to get help

Do not use if allergic to acetaminophen. Stop and seek immediate medical help for skin redness, blisters or rash. Severe sore throat, or sore throat lasting more than two days or accompanied by fever, headache, rash, nausea or vomiting, needs prompt assessment. An overdose needs immediate help even without symptoms.

Seek advice for worsening symptoms, fever beyond three days, cough beyond seven days, new symptoms or rash. Store at 20–25°C and keep away from children.
