Understanding low-dose aspirin
Aspirin is an NSAID. The coating delays release and does not eliminate serious bleeding risk. A daily regimen for cardiovascular care requires a clinician's decision; do not start, stop or change it on your own. Delayed-release tablets are unsuitable when prompt pain relief is needed.
How to take
Follow your clinician's dose for a prescribed regimen. Swallow coated tablets whole with a full glass of water. The package's occasional-pain directions are separate from a daily low-dose regimen; do not use one schedule in place of the other.
Before use
Ask about use with anticoagulants, steroids, other NSAIDs, ulcers, kidney disease, asthma or pregnancy. Do not give to children or teenagers with flu-like illness or chickenpox. Seek help for vomiting blood, black stools, faintness or an allergic reaction. Keep out of children's reach.
