Different formulas
Each caplet contains acetaminophen 325 mg, dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg and phenylephrine HCl 5 mg. Daytime caplets also contain guaifenesin 200 mg to loosen mucus; nighttime caplets instead contain chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg for runny nose and sneezing.
Directions
Adults and children 12 years and older: take 2 caplets every 4 hours as needed. Do not exceed 10 caplets total across both formulas in 24 hours. Do not take day and night doses together. Under 12: ask a doctor.
Before use
Do not use with other acetaminophen products, an MAOI or within 2 weeks after stopping an MAOI. Nighttime caplets can cause drowsiness: avoid alcohol, driving and other sedatives. Ask about liver disease, blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma or urinary difficulty. Seek advice for fever lasting over 3 days, persistent symptoms or a severe sore throat.
