What it is used for

Relieves and helps prevent heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach.

How to use

Adults and children age 12 and older: swallow one tablet with a glass of water; do not chew. For prevention, take one tablet 10–60 minutes before a triggering food or drink. Maximum two tablets in 24 hours. Children under 12: ask a doctor.

Before use

Do not use if allergic to famotidine or other acid reducers, with another acid reducer, or for trouble swallowing, vomiting blood, or bloody/black stools. Ask a doctor for kidney disease, heartburn lasting over three months, unexplained weight loss, frequent wheezing, stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting. Chest or shoulder pain with breathlessness, sweating, dizziness, or pain spreading to the arms or neck needs prompt medical assessment. Review prescription medicines and pregnancy or breastfeeding with a health professional. Stop if heartburn continues or worsens or use is needed beyond 14 days.

Is this the same formula as Pepcid Complete?

No. This is famotidine alone. Complete also includes antacid ingredients and has chewable-tablet directions.
