Mucinex Maximum Strength contains guaifenesin 1200 mg in each extended-release tablet. This package contains 14 tablets.
What it helps with
The expectorant helps loosen and thin mucus in the bronchial passages so a cough can be more productive. This guaifenesin-only product does not contain the cough suppressant in Mucinex DM or the decongestant in Mucinex D.
Directions
Adults and children age 12 and older: take 1 tablet every 12 hours with a full glass of water. Do not exceed 2 tablets in 24 hours. Swallow whole; do not crush, chew or break. It may be taken with or without meals. Do not use under age 12.
Before use
Ask a doctor for a chronic cough or cough with excessive mucus. Stop and seek advice if cough lasts more than 7 days, returns or occurs with fever, rash or persistent headache. Ask before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding and check other medicines for duplicate guaifenesin.
