Delsym 12 Hour Cough Relief Grape, 3 fl oz, contains dextromethorphan polistirex equivalent to 30 mg dextromethorphan HBr per 5 mL. Its extended-release suspension suppresses cough for up to 12 hours.
Dose by age
Shake well and use the supplied cup. Ages 12+: 10 mL every 12 hours, maximum 20 mL daily. Ages 6 to under 12: 5 mL every 12 hours, maximum 10 mL daily. Ages 4 to under 6: 2.5 mL every 12 hours, maximum 5 mL daily. Under four: do not use.
Before use
Do not use with an MAOI or within two weeks after stopping one. Ask a clinician about a chronic cough, excess mucus, pregnancy, nursing or other medicines. Seek advice if cough persists beyond seven days, returns, or occurs with fever, rash or persistent headache.
Avoid duplicate dosing
This is a 12-hour cough suppressant, not a four-hour syrup. Do not take extra between doses or combine with other dextromethorphan products. It does not contain an expectorant.
Storage
Store at 20–25°C (68–77°F), check the seal and keep away from children. Read all label warnings and seek prompt help for suspected overdose.
